Brief overview of program: The one-year Aquarium Science certificate is available for individuals who have earned a BS or higher in a Life Science. The certificate encompasses 51 credit hours taken over the course of one academic year. Students who are pursuing the certificate take classes alongside individuals who are studying for the Associate's degree. Certificate track students take first and second year courses concurrently rather than sequentially. All Aquarium Science students enroll in a required 12 credit hour internship at a facility of their choice which includes both classroom learning as well as a hands-on, real work environment approach to develop aquatic animal husbandry skills. These courses are designed to qualify individuals for work the aquatic animal husbandry profession. Potential employment opportunities include:
