Our biology graduates enter a wide variety of fields such as teaching; biotechnology research and manufacturing; environmental sciences and management; agriculture; state and federal national park service and forest service; a variety of health professions, such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary science; and graduate programs for advanced study in botany, entomology, plant pathology, zoology, marine sciences, and cell and molecular biology.
Description of Facilities: The department is housed in modern facilities equipped with up-to-date instrumentation. Cal Poly has direct access to the ocean through the Center for Coastal Marine Sciences. Cal Poly's geographical setting offers local opportunities for studying both coastal and estuarine ecosystems.
