Brief overview of program: Students attending Smith College, University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Hampshire College,Mt. Holyoke College, and Amherst College may pursue interdisciplinary study leading to a certificate in coastal and marine sciences (certificate not currently available at Amherst College). In consultation with a faculty advisor from their home institution, students choose from over 100 courses at the five colleges to structure a program of study taht complements their major and emphasizes competancy in field work. Paid summer internships and scholarships for research and study away programs are available.
